It was a white out at the 2023 Oscars, with celebrities opting for old Hollywood glamour in classic white evening wear.
While neon bright colors have ruled many recent award show red carpets, at the Academy Awards the stars instead decided to go for a fresh start in all-white looks. Michelle Yeoh chose Dior haute couture for the big night, wearing a flowing tulle dress with a sheer illusion sweetheart neckline embellished with subtle white feathers throughout. Eva Longoria and Ariana DeBose both opted for modern takes on Art Deco in elaborately beaded gowns with long sleeves and plunging necklines. Emily Blunt went super simple in an off-the-shoulder body-conscious column gown by Valentino, while Mindy Kaling put her own twist on the style in a Vera Wang column gown with cutout corset boning throughout the torso and detached sleeves. Michelle Williams also went with a column gown, adding an extra dose of drama with silver sequin floral embellishment on the bust and a subtly embroidered tulle overlay. And it wasn’t just the ladies who opted for this more minimalist red carpet style. Paul Mescal chose something a little different for the red carpet in a simple white tux with a retro wide lapel as did Harry Shum Jr. in Adeam.
Ahead, take a look at all the stars who dressed to match the Oscars new champagne-colored red carpet.
